This operation took place just days after Donald Trump was inaugurated for a second term. Gorka, then serving as the senior counterterrorism director on Trump’s National Security Council, entered the Oval Office with National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and a colleague to brief Trump about a man in Somalia linked to ISIS.
“Sir, ISIS leader, killed Americans, planning to kill more Americans,” Gorka summarized their intelligence briefing for the president.
