The factory, equipped with two production lines, is set to produce up to 10,000 vehicles annually. This capacity will cater to domestic demand while enabling the export of approximately 30,000 vehicles from Egypt. With investments of $250 million in Egypt’s automotive sector, Geelyhas rapidly expanded its operations, establishing over 40 sales and service centers nationwide and achieving a local content rate exceeding 45%. The company also plans to further localize component production, bolstering the Egyptian supply chain.

He praised the Egyptian government’s efforts to improve the investment climate, which he noted have encouraged both Arab and Chinese investors to expand their activities. Al Ghanim emphasized the importance of governmental support in strengthening Geely’s vehicle exports from Egypt, a move that could enhance the country’s position as a regional export hub.

Prime Minister Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering the automotive industry through incentives and strategic initiatives. These efforts aim to attract more global players to the Egyptian market, ultimately supporting the nation’s broader economic goals.

Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Hangzhou, China, GeelyAuto Group has established itself as a global leader in the automotive sector. It oversees renowned brands like Lynk & Co, Proton Cars, and Geometry, in addition to its flagship Geely Auto.
