24 DAILY NEWS – Federal prosecutors in Minnesota are required to disclose essential information regarding the shooting of Renee Good by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer Jonathan Ross, linked to a separate case involving Ross.
Prosecutors have until May 1 to submit various records, including Ross’s personnel file, for review by a magistrate judge. This information could elucidate the details surrounding Good’s death, which occurred on January 7 when she was shot by Ross during an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis.
The directive followed a motion filed by the defense attorneys for Roberto Carlos Muñoz-Guatemala, who was involved in an incident with Ross in June. During that encounter, Ross broke a window in Muñoz-Guatemala’s vehicle and deployed a Taser. Muñoz-Guatemala subsequently drove away and was later convicted for dragging Ross with his car.
Defense attorney Eric Newmark hailed the ruling as pivotal for both his client’s rights and public understanding of Good’s shooting. “My client
