The suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, 31, from Torrance, California, does not present a clear ideological profile. His now-deleted Bluesky account reportedly included generic criticisms of the Trump administration. Allen, a self-employed video game designer and part-time teacher, studied mechanical engineering and computer science. He participated in a Christian fellowship and a student club focused on foam battles. Additionally, he made a $25 donation to ActBlue in 2024 for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, but he was registered as a voter with “no party preference” in California.
